WHO WE ARE

Declassified Australia was established by Peter Cronau and Antony Loewenstein.

Peter Cronau is an award-winning, investigative journalist, writer, and film-maker. His documentary, The Base: Pine Gap’s Role in US Warfighting, ran on Australian ABC Radio National and featured on ABC News. He produced and directed the documentary film Drawing the Line, revealing details of Australian spying in East Timor, on ABC TV’s investigative Four Corners. He won the Gold Walkley Award in 2007 for a report he produced on an outbreak of political violence in East Timor. He is co-editor of the book, A Secret Australia – Revealed by the WikiLeaks Exposés, and is preparing a new book examining aspects of the Australia-US military and intelligence alliance.

Antony Loewenstein is an independent journalist, author and film-maker who has written for the Guardian, New York Times and many others. His books include My Israel QuestionDisaster Capitalism: Making A Killing Out Of Catastrophe and Pills, Powder and Smoke: Inside The Bloody War On Drugs and films include Disaster Capitalism and the Al Jazeera English films West Africa’s Opioid Crisis and Under the Cover of Covid. His latest book, out in 2023, is on how the technology of Israel’s occupation has gone global, and is titled: The Palestine Laboratory: How Israel Exports The Technology Of Control Around The World. He’s currently developing a number of documentary films.
